Mr. Raindrop Free Piano Sheet Music – Gintama ED2

Me and Mr. Raindrop

Mr. Raindrop has always been my favorite ending song from the Gintama OST. I first discovered the song back in 2014 while watching the anime, but my passion for piano hadn’t yet been awakened. It wasn’t until 2021, during the quiet days of the pandemic, that the melody hit me again while rewatching the series, I finally sat down to transcribe this piece.

The vibe of the song truly resonates with me. It feels like chilling with friends under a light summer rain. The rain stops, and a rainbow appears. The song depicts the friendship between Katsura and Elizabeth. I’ve always found the scene at the bus stop in the ED so touching – Katsura sits alone, waiting for the downpour to end. When suddenly the rain “stops”. Elizabeth appears, holding an umbrella for him. What a lovely and nostalgic moment!

The song brings me back to the days when I was first obsessed with Gintama, and I wanted to bring that exact energy to the piano arrangement of the piece.

Mr. Raindrop Piano Arrangement

  • Arrangement Difficulty:
  • Sheets Difficulty:

This pop-rock track has a catchy and upbeat melody, which makes the transcription process really smooth.

  • Left hand: Follows the bass, electric guitar and drum set. My left hand part consists mostly of octaves to ensure the sound stays clean and straightforward.
  • Right hand: Follows the bells and the vocal. to capture the rich energy of the melody, I’ve incorporated frequent double notes for right hand.
  • Original Transitions: I didn’t want the piano to sound too monotonous when the vocals cut out, so I polished the transitions with some fills. You can see an example of this in measure 52 below, where I’ve incorporated a series of arpeggios.
  • Use of Pedal: Please use pedal throughout the piece, and make sure the transitions are clean.
